This September will be the 12th year of Wanstead Fringe and we want to take the festival to another level. More shows and more variety! The Fringe will be running from the 6th of September to the 27th of September this year.
We will be programming shows for two specific venues (space specs below), one being a pub theatre and the other being a converted church hall space in Wanstead. If you have another venue in mind in Wanstead you are still welcome to apply but please specify where you want to put the show on and you will need to make those arrangements with the venue yourselves.
This application form is only for theatre productions. If you are a comedian please email info@wansteadfringe.org instead.
Opportunity if you use our two designated spaces: Quite unusually, our two Fringe venues will be offering a very special deal. The theatre spaces will be free for all performances. There will be no deposit or guarantee needed and all ticket sales will go to your company except for a small booking fee (that the audience members pay). The only thing you will need to pay is the £35 per show participation fee to be part of Wanstead Fringe and be in our brochure as well as advertised on our socials.
We want to make theatre-making accessible and don’t want people to avoid putting on their show due to extortionate venue costs. We are very thankful to the venues for offering their spaces to us and we hope to present as many amazing shows as we can in that time.
Please be aware if you choose to use another venue, you will need to pay their fee for booking the space so please enquire about their booking fees in advance to applying.
You will also need to have your own lighting/sound operator(s). If you would like to hire one of our technicians, please let us know but there will be a fee involved to pay them for their time.
Wanstead Fringe formulate a printed programme that is distributed throughout Wanstead and surrounding areas. You will be expected to market the show as a company as well to sell as many tickets as you can.
The venues will have basic lighting rigs and speakers. There will be access to two mics.
The deadline for submissions is July 19th but we will be programming shows as soon as applications come through so it’s best to get your applications in ASAP.
You will be responsible for obtaining insurance for your performances.
When filling out the form, please include pronouns for each name stated. If you would prefer to answer these on a video please keep the video to 5 minutes max and create a link for a YouTube video or Vimeo.
If you would rather fill in a PDF, you can download it here, and send it to theatre@wansteadfringe.org
If you have any questions regarding the application please contact Marissa Landy at theatre@wansteadfringe.org
