Redbridge Brass presents “Alice in WonderBand”

“Alice in WonderBand” takes the audience on a whimsical journey through the curious world of brass bands through the lens of the classic children’s story.

Where the Queen of Hearts wields the baton, the Mad Hatter keeps time on percussion and a smoky-toned caterpillar slides around on trombone. Even the cornet section has turned into a deck of marching playing cards! As Alice tries to make sense of this musical madness she’s left wondering… is this a dream or just another day at band rehearsal?

As a warm up, the band will perform a selection of tunes based on famous books and stories. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Matilda, Batman, Harry Potter to name but a few. And no story based concert would be complete without Rimsky-Korsakov’s epic Scheherazade which paints vivid musical pictures of The Arabian Nights.

This is a concert for the whole family to enjoy!

During the interval there will be refreshments available including, of course, a selection of band made cakes!
