Local History Walk: Aldersbrook & Blakehall Road

Discover the history and stories of the City Of London Cemetery, Aldersbrook and Lakehouse estates as well as Blakehall Road and Cambridge Park.

Walk from the City of London Cemetery to Wanstead, ending at the George and Dragon. The walk starts at the City Of London cemetery gates and follows Alderbrook road and Blakehall Roads back to Central Wanstead. It does not go inside the Cemetery.

“History Walks” are returning after a popular first run in 2025 – this year, there are three walks to choose from focussing on different local areas: Central Wanstead, Snaresbrook and Aldersbrook & Blakehall Road. Each walk is free but ticketed and lasts approximately two hours.
