We are also excited to share that there will be several duets performed with Father Martyn who has had a love for the guitar for many years. Peter will also share insights and information along the way on the history of the guitar and the composers and musical styles performed.
ABOUT THE PERFORMER
Peter is a lifelong local to Wanstead and alumni of Wanstead High School. His love for music and guitar was inspired by his father who encouraged him to learn to play this beautiful instrument when he was a young child. He started performing at nine years of age and won a scholarship to Redbridge Music School soon after. Since then Peter has been immersed deeply in studying the guitar in its various guises. He has worked with rock and pop artists and studied the Electric and Steel String guitars, however his deepest passion is the Classical Guitar. Peter holds a classical music degree and a professional performance diploma with The Royal Schools of Music. His eclectic style reflects the fusion of his learning, which has also included studying Flamenco in the Andalusian mountains, Classical Guitar with a conservatoire professor in Paris, and authentic Latin music from working musicians in Brazil.
Among other TV appearances, he was a finalist in Sky TV’s Guitar Star where he gave an electrifying performance at Ronnie Scott’s. He has performed internationally in Spain, France, Monaco, Sweden, Germany, Morocco, Qatar and Dubai. He now performs regularly at venues like the Ritz and Claridge’s. He has worked with celebrities including Emma Thompson and Dustin Hoffmann, and has performed for Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Recent Highlights in 2023 include a performance for Princess Zara and Mike Tindall in Kensington Palace.
