A Very British Kind of Horror: Talk by Ben Walsh

Monday 13 September at 7:30 pm 9:00 pm

Local author and film critic Ben Walsh believes British horror films offer something special – and it’s something closer to home than you might expect.

The talk is a personal look at British folk horror, which will explore the role of children’s TV in the genre, as well as the importance of a rural setting and the threat of the community in sinister British TV and films in productions such as Whistle and I’ll Come to You, Hammer House of Horror’s The Reptile and The Wicker Man, to name but a few.

Ben Walsh has written for many Fleet Street publications including the Independent and the Standard.
