Hannah Armstrong is a historian and author of the upcoming publication Wanstead House East London’s Lost Palace. Her book is the first fully illustrated monograph about the meteoric rise and tragic decline of the Child dynasty and their magnificent, classical palace, Wanstead House, which was demolished in 1824.
Hannah Armstrong has spent the past seven years investigating Wanstead’s history and piecing together a variety of evidence to reconstruct how the house was designed, used and experienced. Join Hannah in conversation with Giles Wilson about her quest for Wanstead’s lost palace and the lives of those who created and occupied one of Georgian England’s finest houses.
The book is to be published in March 2022. There will be an opportunity to pre-order copies at a substantial discount. To order a copy now, you can do so at Wanstead Bookshop here.
