About the Event

September 4th 1882 saw the first large-scale use of Thomas Edison’s lightbulb, proving to the world that electricity could be reliably distributed from a central station, plugging everyone into the modern electrical age. This concert will reflect on how composers have responded to light, and darkness, since time began.

Your hosts, COVID street concert locals Lucy Crowe and Joe Walters, will be joined by other muso mates to perform a programme fully charged with music from Strauss, Schubert and Charpentier to electrically assisted sounds of The Ageing Balladeer and other artists on the current circuit making a bit of a buzz.

And rumour has it special guests Elsie and Ernie Walters will definitely NOT be staying static…
