Music
Name: Christ Church
Featuring the world premiere of Prismklavier for piano-four-hands by Simone Spagnolo, this programme explores ways in which composers give new shapes to the music they inherit.
From Satie’s playful satire of conventional form and Spagnolo’s cyclical architectures to Brahms’s variations on a theme by Schumann, each work looks both backwards and forwards, revealing tradition not as something fixed, but as a living source of imagination and renewal.
Pianists Giulia Semerano and Filippo Di Bari share a strong commitment to chamber music and perform together as a piano duo, with a repertoire spanning masterpieces written for this intimate ensemble alongside lesser-known works of the 20th and 21st centuries and collaborations with living composers. Praised for their intense and engaging performances, they perform regularly across Europe, including St Martin-in-the-Fields, St James’s Piccadilly, Blackheath Halls, Festival Intersezioni, Artcevia International Art Festival.
